Autumn Colour Trends
Emerging Autumn Colour Trends
As the season starts to change it got us thinking what new colours will be on trend for this coming season. Well according to HarpersBazaar.com the “green movement” is an emerging trend this season.
New York runways are starting to be adorned with designers like Reed Krakoff, Calvin Klein and Michael Kors showcasing these deep rich shades that embody the autumnal season. Naturally these runways dictate colour and trends to other industries.
Have a look at the living room of Barnaba Fornasetti’s Milan Villa (The son of the famous Piero Fornasetti) and take inspiration from autumn colour trends.
In the living room you will find a collection of mirrors and vintage pieces by his father. A lacquered cocktail table with a Trompe L’oeil design holds a group of limited edition vases. I absolutely love the simplistic yet functional design and layout of this room.
How To Create This Look
Choose a predominant wall in your house which will be the focus of the room. Try to avoid having a television in front of this wall as you don’t want to detract from the focus of the room.
To achieve an authentic green you can mix two tins of Chalk Paint™ such as Olive and Florence to give a bottle green however Emperors Silk added to Antibes Green gives a much darker green.
For a really dramatic finish you can wax the wall to give a luxurious sheen.
Bronze gilding over some vintage mirror and picture frames will jump out against the green wall. Make sure to arrange mirrors and frames in an array rather than symmetrical traditional layout.
Find a small, low table and decoupage with wallpaper. Fornasetti sell a range of amazing wallpaper that will create a unique piece of furniture.
